Dr Daniel Luiz de Mattos Nascimento focuses his research on three key areas: sustainable management systems, emerging digital technologies, and Lean-agile and digital supply chains. His work in these domains has resulted in the publication of 33 articles in high-impact journals, including the Journal of Industrial Information Integration (JCR – Q1), Journal of Cleaner Production (JCR – Q1), Production Planning and Control (JCR – Q1), Journal of Manufacturing Technology Management (JCR – Q1), IEEE Transactions on Visualization and Computer Graphics (JCR – Q1), International Journal of Production Economics (JCR – Q1), Business Strategy and the Environment (JCR – Q1), and Technological and Economic Development of Economy (JCR – Q1). These publications underscore the importance and impact of his research within the global academic community. Dr Mattos is a member of the worldwide team of the International Academy for Quality, an Associate Editor of the Journal of Lean Systems, and an Associate Editor of the Brazilian Journal of Operations and Production Management (JCR – Q3). He has been accredited as an Associate Professor by both the Ministry of Universities of the Spanish Government (ANECA) and the Agency for Quality in the Catalan University System (AQU Catalunya). In the technological field, he has developed and registered four open-source software solutions and one proprietary software tool. Among his publications, 25 articles are classified as JCR Q1. He holds an h-index of 17 in Scopus with over 2012 citations and 20 in Google Scholar with over 3,262 citations to his work. Additionally, he has collaborated with globally renowned researchers in areas such as climate impact management, sustainability, Lean management, and Industry 4.0. International collaborations account for more than 65% of his published works, reflecting the global reach and significance of his contributions. With over 12 years of teaching experience, Dr Mattos has delivered more than 1,500 hours of lectures, with a clear focus on digital transformation, interoperability and sustainability in operations and supply chains. He has designed and coordinated innovative courses, supervised more than 16 undergraduate and master's theses, and is currently supervising three doctoral theses while co-supervising three others. His teaching philosophy is rooted in fostering innovation and academic excellence.
